This semester ended on Dec. 9. I just finished my academic journey in 2024 and returned to Beijing.
1. Relieve procrastination
First of all, as a doctoral student, I will be strict with myself, which is reflected in reforming my shortages. Procrastination is one of the most critical shortcomings. During my master's period, I always completed essays and group work close to the deadline. My key to overcoming it is beginning earlier to leave enough room for procrastination.
2. English learning
In addition, my experience from the master's period told me that my English skills can not handle the doctorate. I realized it was time to continue English learning. Mia, my oral English teacher, who is a stunning tutor, inspired me to practice English every week. I do hope my English will improve after numerous practices.
3. Join more social activities
Last but not least, as an introvert, I'm not adapt at coping with social relationships. Fortunately, I have several good friends who encouraged me to join more social activities. For instance, I participated in an academic symposium, an academic interview organized by HKU, a Pokemon VGC competition in Shenzhen, and an investigation in Shunde. These valuable experiences make me more cheerful and more willing to meet new friends.
The food from Shenzhen Airlines business class is literally terrible. Perhaps I will take an economy class next time.
