A Long Overdue Hello from Beijing

Hello everyone,

First and foremost, I owe you all an apology. It’s been several months since my last post, and my silence was due to a frustrating bout with technical and network issues. To make matters worse, in the process of trying to fix things, I ended up losing many of my past articles. It’s been a challenging period, and I’m incredibly sorry for the long wait and the lost content. Thank you for your patience.

On a much brighter note, there's a reason I'm finally back online. I've returned home.

I’m writing this from my hometown, Beijing. After being away, there’s an indescribable comfort in rediscovering the familiar. The past few weeks have been about reconnecting with the simple, everyday scenes that I grew up with, and I wanted to share a few snapshots of what that feels like.

These photos are from my wanderings through the neighborhood. The sun-drenched alleyways, framed by lush summer greenery and a tangle of overhead wires, are exactly as I remember them. There’s a quiet energy here—the hum of daily life against a backdrop of old buildings and vibrant pink crape myrtle blossoms reaching for the sun. It’s a world away from the city's main arteries, a place with its own pace and its own stories.

It feels so good to be back, both here in Beijing and here with you all. I’m looking forward to sharing more stories and moments with you, now that I’m settled in.

Thanks for sticking around.
